    2.    ANALYSIS

    a)    83% of members of boards of listed companies are male.
    b)    17% of members of boards of listed companies are female
    c)    64% of public listed companies have female representation in their boards.
    d)    36% of public listed companies in Kenya don’t have female representation.
    e)    8% of board chairs are female
    f)     92% board chairs are male
    g)    8% of managing directors are female
    h)   92% of managing directors are male.
    i)     13% of the companies have complied with two-thirds gender rule
    j)      87% of the companies have not complied with the two-thirds gender rule
    3.    EXPLANATION
    Most public listed companies with female representation in the boards have not complied with the two-thirds gender rule and this explains why even though most companies have female representation in the boards the overall percentage of female representation in the boards is very small, that is to say, 17%, which far below the required minimum that is 33 1/3%.
    4.    RESEARCH LIMITATION
    Some information was gotten from Google search which may not be a reliable source of information
    5.    CONCLUSION
    Generally, from the study, females are underrepresented in boards of public listed companies in Kenya.
